If your child is absent because of illness please telephone on 01538 384939 or text the school using the MYEd app before 9.30am. The school office will telephone parents/carers if no contact has been made on the first day of any absence.
We use a communication app called MyEd where parents and staff can communicate with us via text and email. All parents are requested to sign up to use this smartphone app which is free to send texts or emails. It is a quick and easy way to communicate with us. We use it to send out important information such as events, trips, achievements and other parental updates so it is important that you download the app to keep up to date. See link below for further information.
We will only contact home for pupils during the school day in an emergency or medical reasons. Pupils are discouraged from visiting the front reception during lessons unless in the event of an emergency.
If you claim any of the following benefits:
If so, you can claim free school meals. Our use of the cashless catering system at school means that lunch money will automatically be credited to your child’s account in a discreet way. We also provide a free breakfast for eligible pupils either before school or at morning break. Even if you don’t want to take the meals, making a claim will help our school as we are able to support your child in a variety of other ways including additional learning support.
The application form can be found online and it is really quick and easy to use. Go to the website at www.staffordshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmealsapplication.
You will need:
You can apply for several children at a time on one application, even if they are all at different schools.
If you would like any more information or support with your application, please do not hesitate to contact
the School Office.
All items of uniform and property must be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Named items are returned to the front office and passed on to their owners. Un-named items are stored in the Lost Property box located near the reprographics room or in the PE covered walk. Pupils are asked to check these boxes themselves for lost items.
However we do gather a large amount of unclaimed items throughout the year – coats, ties, bags and even shoes! At the end of each term we remind pupils to identify and claim unnamed items.
Any items remaining are donated to charity shops or a local uniform swap.
Wherever possible we prefer parents to pay for school meals, trips or goods via Parent Pay and avoid pupils bringing cash to school. If you don’t have a ParentPay account please contact the school and request your login details.
We request that parents download the free MyEd app on any smart device to enable us to communicate with you quickly and easily. All texts and messages sent via the app are free to parents and you can make sure you don’t miss out on any important information!
