Do you claim any of the following benefits?
· Income Support
· Income based Job Seekers Allowance
· Income based Employment and Support Allowance
· Child tax credit and no working tax credit with a household income of less than £16,190
· Universal Credit The ‘Guarantee’ element of State Pension Credit
· Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
If so, you can claim free school meals. Our use of the cashless catering system at school means that credits are automatically
paid in to your child’s account in a discreet way. Your child will also be eligible for a free lunch and also a free breakfast. Even if
you don’t want to take the meals, making a claim will help our school as we receive extra funding for each child who is
registered. This funding could then be used for: additional support for pupils; school trips; after-school clubs and other
enrichment activities.
The application form can be found online and it is really quick and easy to use. Go to the website at
www.staffordshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmealsapplication.
You will need:
· Your date of birth
· National insurance number or national asylum support service number
· Your address
· The children’s details with you when you apply
You can apply for several children at a time on one application, even if they are all at different schools.
If you would like any more information or support with your application, please do not hesitate to contact the school on
01538 394939.
