Free School Meals

If you claim any of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income based Employment and Support Allowance
  • Eligible for Child tax credit but not working tax credit with a household income of less than £16,190
  • Universal Credit the ‘Guarantee’ element of State Pension Credit
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

If so, you can claim free school meals. Our use of the cashless catering system at school means that money would automatically be credited to your child’s account in a discreet way. Even if you don’t want to take the meals, making a claim will help our school as we will receive some extra funding for each child who is registered. This funding could then be used for: additional support for pupils; school trips; after-school clubs and other enrichment activities.

The application form can be found online and it is really quick and easy to use. Go to the website at

www.staffordshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmealsapplicationYou will need:

  • Your date of birth
  • National insurance number or national asylum support service number
  • Your address
  • The children’s details with you when you apply

You can apply for several children at a time on one application, even if they are all at different schools.

If you would like any more information or support with your application, please do not hesitate to contact the School Office.

Cashless System

We operate a cashless pay system via Arbor which allows parents to pay for school meals in an amount that suits you – weekly, monthly or each term. Arbor is also used to pay for anything else within the school like school trips.

To create a new Arbor account , you will need to us the email that is registered with the school and then click forgot password. This will then send an email for you tick create a password.

The biometric thumbprint system is a completely secure process of identifying the individual pupil. The thumbprint is scanned and specific points on the print are measured. These measurements are translated into a unique numeric code for the pupil and the thumbprint scan is deleted. No actual thumbprint is stored or recorded in the system.
